Ennio Morricone is one of the most famous film score composers of the 20th century. Certainly, he's one of the most prolific. On December 13, 2006, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that at the 79th annual Academy Awards, Morricone will receive the Academy's Honorary Oscar to celebrate his numerous contributions to the world of cinema.
